Course Information
Riverview Leadership College currently offers a 1 year Certificate IV in Ministry and a 2 year Diploma of Ministry. Each course can be studied in its entirety or by choosing only the subjects of interest to you.
CERTIFICATE IV IN MINISTRY
Graduation with the Certificate IV in Ministry requires successful completion of all components of the course.
DIPLOMA OF MINISTRY
Graduation with the Diploma of Ministry requires successful completion of all components of the Certificate IV in Ministry and all components of the Diploma course.
Subject Information
Spiritual Formation
Spiritual Formation develops the students' own spiritual awareness, and provides exposure to a wide range of Ministries and Ministers and opportunities to grow in their Spirituality and life management skills.
Leadership Studies
Leadership Studies provides students with relevant training, covering issues including what is Leadership?, Lessons from great Leaders and a great variety of specific Leadership Skills.
Practical Service
All full time students are required to serve in areas of Ministry within the life of Riverview Church.
Students are required to serve in one Ministry area per semester (4 hours/week) from a wide range of areas including; Pastoral response, Ministry Service Teams, Creative Ministry, Connect Team, Children's Ministry, Youth and Young Adults Ministry and many more.
Old Testament - Semester 1
Old Testament 1 looks at how the Old Testament came into being and unveils the story, the mystery and the meaning of the Pentateuch (The books of the Bible: Genesis - Deuteronomy) as the foundation for understanding God's plan of redemption.
New Testament - Semester 2
New Testament 1 provides an overview of context, purpose and the meanings behind each of the books in the New Testament.
Theology
Theology 1 looks into what it means to think 'theologically'. It also addresses the issues of who God is, and sin and salvation.
Charismatic Distinctives
Charismatic Distinctives investigates the charismatic gifts in the New Testament in relation to their relevance in ministry and mission, both currently and historically.
Church History
Church History takes you on a journey of discovery, watching how the Church of Jesus Christ found its identity, understood its place throughout history and how it came to where it is now.
Pastoral Ministry
Explore how to Minister in ways that will assist others to draw closer to God in the wide variety of situations and experience that life brings.
Tutorial workshops
In addition to the class lectures and practical service outlined above, 6 hours of tutorial workshops are provided each week to assist you in understanding your subject material and completing assessments successfully. All international students are required to attend these workshops, to comply with Australian government requirements.
